Hurumanu - Solar Energy

Hello everyone, today in science we are learning about solar energy and what its powers.

Aim: To find out which colour attracts the suns heat.

Hypothesis: I think the colour that produces more energy is silver.

Solar energy powers:

  1. Phones
  2. Nasa Rover
  3. Bikes
  4. Small toys
  5. T.V
  6. R.C cars
  7. Lights
  8. Outdoor speakers
  9. Scooter
  10. Windmill
  11. Robots
  12. Solar Panels
  13. Solar oven
  14. How water
  15. Satellites
  16. Cars

Materials:

  1.  2 plastic cup
  2.  1 styrofoam cup
  3. 2 thin foil
  4.  2 black plastics
  5.  1 white paper
  6. heat lamp
  7. Thermometer
  8. water

Steps

  1. Get all the equipment you need.
  2.  Prepare the things you need for the experiments
  3.  Wait for the teacher to give you the water, heat lamp and thermometer
  4.  Point the heat lamp to the three cups
  5. Record the temperature of the water on each cup using the thermometer/
  6. Clean up your mess.
  7. Do your blogs.

Findings:

This is the experiment looks like. On the left side is the styrofoam cup, on the centre is the plastic cup covered with black plastic and on the left side is the thin foil cup. The light that is shining on the picture is the heat lamp which produces the heat to the cups.

Conclusion:

I found out that black cup is getting more heat than the other cup.

Hurumanu - Climate Change and Greenhouse gases

AIM: TO LOOK AT CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT.

The Greenhouse Effect experiment

Materials

  1. 2x plastic bottle
  2. 2x 1/4 cup water
  3. 2x thermometer
  4. 1 tablespoon baking soda

Procedure

  1.  Put the heat lamp beside the plastic bottle
  2.  Put the water in each plastic bottle
  3.  Put baking soda on the other plastic bottle
  4. Shake the bottle with baking soda in it
  5. Close the bottle using the lid with thermometer

Findings:The Greenhouse Effect Data

Bottle 1: Water
Bottle 2: CO2 Gas
018 degree18 degree
523 degree24 degree

Conclusion:

I learned that carbon dioxide affect temperature around the world. Because it easily to heat them

Climate Chaos

Hello everyone this past few weeks we're doing an experiment about the water cycle. Here's the template that I made.

Climate Chaos
Written by: Khyle

Title

Water Cycle Experiment 1

Purpose

To know how does the water cycle works

Materials

Bag 1
  • 1x ziploc bag (large)
  • 1x vivid marker (any colour)
  • 1x cup of water
  • 5 drops of blue food colouring
  • 2x double-sided tape
Bag 2
  • 1x ziploc bag (large)
  • 1x vivid marker (any colour)
  • 1x cup fizzy water
  • 2 drops of blue food colouring
  • 2x double-sided tape
  • 1x teaspoon of baking soda

Steps

Bag 1
Step one
  • Get all the stuff you needed
Step two
  • Draw the water cycle on the using the vivid pen to the zip bag
Step three
  • Put 1 cup of water inside the zip bag
Step four
  • Put 5 drops of blue food colouring inside the zip bag
Step five
  • Put the double-sided tape at the top and bottom of the ziploc bag
Step six
  • Stick it on the window where the bag gets some sunlight

Bag 2
Step one
  • Get all the stuff you needed
Step two
  • Draw the water cycle on the using the vivid pen to the zip bag
Step three
  • Put 1 cup of fizzy water inside the ziploc bag carefully
Step four
  • Put 2 drops of blue food colouring inside the ziploc bag carefully so you don’t get it on your clothes
Step five
  • Put 1 teaspoon of baking soda in the ziploc bag.
Step six
  • Close the ziploc bag. While closing the bag put the litmus paper at the side of the zip.
Step seven
  • Put the double-sided tape at the top and bottom of the ziploc bag
Step eight
  • Stick it on the window where the bag gets some sunlight

Conclusion

I think the outcome of this experiment will be

Good, because we've done exactly what the teacher told us what to do on our experiment

What actually happened

On the first bag, nothing happens. On the second bag, the litmus paper changes its colour because of the carbon dioxide

Poems

Hello everyone, in the past few weeks we're learning about poems. I've looked 3 types of poems Haiku poem, Free verse poem and Limerick poem. The poems that I picked is a Haiku poem. Here is my poem.

Haiku Poem
Warfare, combat, siege
Soldiers shooting enemies
Enemy loses

My passion is playing Mobile Legends

Hello everyone, today I'm making DLO about what I'm passionate about because our teacher said to make DLO of what we are passionate about.

Broken Wing

Hello everyone this past few weeks I am reading the book, Broken Wing. My teacher is giving us a task that we need to do. Here's the task.

School Broken Wing
Journal
Who is the main character in this story?
The main character in this story is Hew and the broken wing.

How old do you think he is?
I think Hew is 12 - 14 years old.

Where do you think this story is set?
The story is set on the loch

What makes you think it is set there?
I think the story is set there because a loch is a quiet place, its deep, it's scary and it’s foggy.

Describe in your own words what the loch looks like.
Foggy, silent, cold, deep water, dark and it’s surrounded by land

Why is Broken Wing so important to Grandfather?
It helps his grandpa to catch fish every morning, and the bird can be the grandpa’s eyes ‘cause grandpa can’t really see clearly

How do you think Grandfather and Broken Wing know each other?
Maybe one morning is fishing in the loch and found the bird drowning on the water, and the bird cant fly because she broke her other wing.

What is the deal between Grandfather and Broken Wing?
They’re friends for a long time and the broken wing help him with fishing.

Explain what Broken Wing does.
It helps granda fish and Hew. It helps Hew to get to the boat ‘cause Hew fell on the water.
Why do you think Hew does not keep the deal?
Because Hew is mad and he’s being rough in fishing.
Describe what happens to Hew when he goes out fishing on his own.
Hew is struggling to know the way, where to fish, how to catch a fish, and broken wing and Hew is fighting that's why Hew fell off the boat.
What lesson did Hew learn from Broken Wing?
Don't be rough with the thing that you just meet and fishing is not easy to do.
What did you enjoy about this story?

The thing that I enjoy in this is when grandpa is revealing the bird that he works with to Hew

Climate Change Issues

Climate Change Issues

Aim: To learn about the different emissions of climate change.

Cows: Cows creates methane when they fart and burp. Methane is 25 times stronger than carbon dioxide.

Transportation: Cars produce carbon dioxide when they're being used. The carbon dioxide comes from the diesel witch is from fossil fuel.

Factories: Making clothes, cars, electronics, and processed foods create a lot of pollution. It produces carbon dioxide when it's getting used.

Electricity: To make electricity sometimes people fossil fuels that release carbon dioxide.

Food: By transporting food from country to country the vehicles prudoce CO2.

Landfill:  Our landfill is growing and using up more healthy land. When waste breaks down in landfills, greenhouse gases are created, including methane and carbon dioxide. These gases contribute to climate change.

Conclusion: Now I know what causes climate change and what is the worst thing that causes climate change.
