Hello everyone, we discussed Online Relationships and Real-life Relationship, on how they're same.
 

Some people might think real-life relationships is much more important/serious that online relationships because in real-life the couple physically knows each other, they can detect what their partner is doing, going out, can make them fall more in love to each other, you can communicate much more easily, you can read their body language and they can see if their partner is honest to them.

On the other hand, some people prefer online relationships because in online you can be picky if you want, you will find better matches, you will meet people outside your social circle and you don't have to wonder how to approach the other person. 

The bad things about online dating, you don't know if they're being truthful or lying about stuff, they can easily cheat on you, they're probably talking to other people, not just you and you can't read their body language when they're talking to you.

They used poison (1080 poison/Sodium fluoroacetate) and killing 100,000,000 million mice.

They considered the as gods/ancestors. They think their dead relatives turned to a rat.

3. What special treatment do the rats get?

They get to live and have lots of food. They're taste testers, they can poo everywhere, they can pee everywhere, not killed, worshipped, treat them wrong will anger Gods, they eat first and if they're in the kitchen they're a sign of goodluck.

Filtration Experiment

Filtration Experiment:

 

Aim: To Separate a solution from a precipitate (precipitate is the name for a solid that forms in a liquid during a chemical reaction).

Hypothesis: I think the mixture will be the same even if it's filtered

Method:  1. Pour approximately 50mL of copper sulfate solution into a beaker.

2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form. Called copper carbonate. 

3. Watch demo then fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel

4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask. 

5. Stir the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel. 

6. Observe what happened.

Equipment:

Sodium carbonate

Copper sulfate

Conical flask

200mL Beaker

Funnel

Filter paper

 

Observations and Discussion: After mixing the copper sulfate and the sodium carbonate solution, the mixture turned very bluish. After putting the mixture to the filtrate, the filtered mixture turned white/clear liquid while the filtered paper had some blue residue left.

Samoa - Umu | Questions

Today in Wananga we watched a video about Umu (a traditional way of cooking on Samoa) and we needed to answer questions about the video, so here it is!


What is an Umu? What does it need, what is it for? 
Umu is one of a traditional way of cooking in Samoan. You need heated stone (to cook the food), banana leaves (to cover the umu so the steam can't go out), fire (to burn the coconut husk and coconut shell up), coconut husk (to heat the stone up), coconut shell (to heat the stone up), wood (to start the fire), patience.

How are traditional Samoan skills taught?
As I heard on the video, their parents didn't teach them how to do it all their parents said is "watching and watching and listen".

Is there something you've experienced similar to an umu? What was it? Where did you experience it?
Sadly I haven't tried someone like that way of cooking.

What types of thing are cooked in an umu?
These include taro, fish, bananas and other fruits such as coconuts and mangoes.

She probably died.
How did she get there?
She died from leukaemia. She got leukaemia from the bomb that exploded 2 kilometres away from their house 12 years ago.
How does she feel?
She feels sad by just looking at her house, staring at her mother by the window.

What is a paper crane and what does represent? 
The orizuru, or paper crane, is a design that is considered to be the most classic of all Japanese origami. In Japanese culture, it is believed that its wings carry souls up to paradise, and it is a representation of the Japanese red-crowned crane, referred to as the "Honourable Lord Crane" in Japanese culture. Traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1000 origami cranes, one's wish would come true. It has also become a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times. As a result, it has become popular to fold 1000 cranes (in Japanese, called “senbazuru”).

My Voice

What I did in isolation:

I did probably a few things in isolation like
cleaning the house, babysitting my little sister,
playing video games, doing some of my online school works,
watched movies with my family, eating and cooking. 

What was I feeling:

I felt lots of different emotions during
the isolation like happy, sad, broken, upset, joyful,
loved and grateful, but most the time I feel tired and
stress.

What some challenges will be for NZ:

They will some few challenges we gonna
face in NZ. Because of the physical/social
distancing, we can’t do things we use to do with our
mates. Our way of living will change, to some people that
work or love things that include physical touching can’t
do this thing for some time  

How can we work together to overcome these challenges: 

Follow the new rules, always remember the
1-meter physical distancing. Don’t disobey the rules.
Encourage each other, help them when they need help.
