Science - Blood

Kia ora bloggers, today I wanna share my work on science. It questions about blood. Enjoy!

Activity:
  1. Use the slides to explain which part of the blood does the following job:

    1. Carry oxygen to cells from lungs: Red blood cells

    1. Carry nutrients from your digestive system: Circulatory System

    1. Fight infection/sickness: White blood cells (WBCs)

    1. Help blood clot in cuts: Platelets

    1. Carry carbon dioxide to lungs: Carry carbon dioxide to lung

2. Research and Write a story pretending to be either a:
      1. Platelet- explaining what it does to help heal a cut.
      2. White Blood Cell- explaining how they help fight infection

Aim for a story with 3 paragraphs, using scientific language.

Platelets act like a temporary plug to prevent the further loss of blood

Platelets are type of blood cell together with red blood cell, white blood cells and plasma.

It plays various major roles in the body; among these role is the blood clotting process.

Platelets helps in the blood clotting process through the formation of a clot or a plug that temporarily prevents excessive loss of blood.

I am very impressed that you've taken the time to blog so much of your science work! That's showing great initiative and I enjoyed being able to learn more about how blood works in our bodies by reading your post.

I look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday!
