End of Life Choice Referendum

Kamusta everyone today we talked about an Act and its about End of Life Referendum.

It's about the Act that gives people with a terminal illness the option of requesting assisted dying. To be able to ask for assisted dying, a person must meet ALL the following criteria. They must:

  • be aged 18 years or over
  • be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand
  • suffer from a terminal illness that's likely to end their life within 6 months
  • have a significant and ongoing decline in physical capability
  • experience unbearable suffering that cannot be eased
  • be able to make an informed decision about assisted dying
The Positive about this law are:
  • Person does not suffer. Dies in peace
  • People should be allowed to choose what time they want to do the assisted dying
The Negatives about this law are:
  • Dr may not want to do it
  • Should be all ages.
  • Parents of those under age can choose.
In my opinion, I agree with this Act, because it all should be on the persons choice if they want to do assisted dying or not. They wouldn't need to suffer and wait for the time they'll gonna be out.
