Slinkachu Research Slides

Kumusta bloggers, this past few weeks in arts we've been talking about Slinkachu's work, we also learned about focal points, leading lines, balance, symmetry/asymmetry and rule of thirds. After learning about his work and photography we were then set a task, which is to photograph small figures inspired by Slinkachu's work.

Slinkachu (b. 1979, Devon, UK) has been “abandoning” his miniature people on the streets of cities around the world since 2006. His work embodies elements of street art, sculpture, installation art and photography and has been exhibited in galleries and museums globally.

Here are some of Slinkachu's photography. :)

Here's the slide that we were working individually, we had to pick one of Slinkachu's art then draw it on the paper and put it on the slide, then specify what are the rule of thirds, leading and the focal point.

Overall it was a great term working on arts, specially working with Mr. Collins. I really love how Mr. Collins explains every single detail about and Slinkachu's work. I learnt a lot this term about arts in a interesting and joyful way.

Thank you for reading have a great day, please comment if you have any suggestion.

Im looking forward to Jellie park because I love swimming, it makes me happy and feel hyped up. The huge slides on Jellie Park, hanging out with friends outside school especially swim with them is making me really excited. I'm kinda nervous about people getting silly and naughty, an accident might happen. Probably hanging out with friends will be the most enjoyable.Swimming Png - Swimming Icon Transparent Background , Free Transparent Clipart - ClipartKey

Week 6 - 100 Word Challenge

Kamusta bloggers, today in wananga we were a task to write about a place that we really want to visit and describe the place and why we want to visit there. Here's my writing, enjoy.

Wishing for the chance to go where I want to for free is not a wish anymore, because of this big bubble that I have. I have been thinking of where would I go, but the place that shines in my head is my hometown, it’s where I was born the Philippines. I would love to visit the stunning beaches and green big joyful mountains that are full of plants again, I also want to feel the warmth of the Filipino’s and my whole family again. Taste the mouthwatering street foods and my most favourite dessert in the world, halo-halo.

Halo-Halo -

Kapre | DLO

Kamusta everyone today in ESOL we talked about mythical creatures from around the world. After talking about the topic we were set a task to make a DLO, video, slideshow or a document about a mythical creature that's believed in our culture.

Me, Jv, Tristan, and Jullien talked about what creature and we'd decided to make a DLO about a tall creepy muscular creature that is called Kapre.

Here's the DLO that we made:

100 Word Challenge - Week 4

Kamusta everyone today in wananga we were set a task to write a 100-word story about a photo that our teacher showed us.

One humid morning, Shane woke up from a night of sleep, wash her face, did her bed, ate her breakfast, drank her black pure coffee,  and taken her shower. After doing her morning routine she eventually gets out of the house and went to her car, but when she gets there were a human-sized foot-prints on the hood of her car. She was confused and shocked about what could it, be so she called the police. Polices arrived at there house and started to investigate what happened. The police came up to her and told there was a robbery that happened last night.

Heroes and Villains Political Poster

Kamusta everyone today in Hurumanu 6 we we're set a task to make a poster about Political ad about our hero. I choose Donald Trump because I didn't have any choice.

Here's my poster:

Ps: Donald Trump isn't really my hero.

Gymnastics | PE

Kamusta bloggers, today in PE we did gymnastics, I haven't done gymnastics before so it was a great experience for me. I found out that gymnastics is very hard to do when you're not used to the equipment and if you're not fit.

Today my focus is the Mini Tramp.

My 3 activities from the card were:

  1. Forward Roll
  2. Straight Jump
  3. Sit Jump

Here's a video of me doing a forward roll.

I'm putting my videos later this week because Jullien has the and he hasn't sent it to me.

The hardest activity today was forward roll on a small trampoline.
It was difficult because I'm not used to doing any flips and using the trampoline.

200 Word Challenge - Week 4

Kamusta everyone today in wananga we were set a task to write a story about the photo that our teacher showed us using 200 words. Here's my work enjoy reading.

One day, Larry the scuba diver heard a news about a place in the deep dark blue ocean where you can find big black spotted whales, the news got his interest because Larry is into the ocean and sea creatures. After hearing the news he eventually planned to go to the place by himself without anybody to guide him.

Days past by very quickly, the of the trip came and Larry was very excited to see the whales. Larry arrived at the place and was very shock of how deep and blue the ocean is, he doesn’t always experience this kind of stuff so he enjoyed every second of the day. He can’t wait to scuba dive so he put on his scuba diving clothes and jump straight to the water while swimming and being amazed by how gorgeous the ocean floor and the sea creatures are, he didn’t realise there was a big hungry whale lurking and stalking him. He heard a big splashed so he turned his head around and saw the huge mouth and sharp teeth of the whale about to munch his whole body up, so he rapidly swam away from the evil whale and escaped.

100 Word Challenge - Term 4 Week 2

Kia Ora blogger welcome to my blog, for today's blog is 100 Word Challenge. Our wananga teacher gave us a photo and we needed to make a story out of it using only 100 words. Here's mine, enjoy reading.

One day Donald the dog and his owners went camping in the deep dark woods of Amazon. On the night they had a campfire and ate foods but in a split crack of a tree-trunk, there was a big blow of wind that caused the campfire to blew out. It was pitch black and Donald couldn't see and couldn't find his owner. Sadly he got lost and all he got was a single sheet of a blanket from the camp. In the morning his owner found him in the middle of the woods covered with the blanket that he got.

Here's the photo.

Badge of Honour | Reading Response

Kamusta everyone, today in Wananga we were set a task to read about a story called 'Badge of Honour' it is about a school captain who is always included in fights after school, later on, the other school captains find out and they had to think what they're gonna do. After reading the story we had two choices to decide of what we're gonna do, nether continue the story by ourself with our own ideas or think of a time we've had to be an upstander or in a similar situation.

The time when I was an upstander is when I saw my friend smoking outside of school and he's a teenager, I eventually felt disgusted, shock and have the urge to tell his parents. The next day I messaged his mom and told her what I saw.  I am not gonna mention his name for his privacy.

Photo Montage

Kamusta everyone, last topic on arts is to make our own photomontage inspired by Hannah Hoch. I've made 3 photomontages by myself and my own Idea, but the one that's my favourite is the building photo montage.

What is your main subject matter? Ahead or portrait? An animal? A vehicle? What can we identify?

On this montage, this is not just an art this is a masterpiece. When you look closely you’ll see a montage of newspaper, building, and small buildings from other places, this is showing the idea of buildings located in the city.

Is your photomontage flat or does it have space (landscape or cityscape)?

What are your focal points?

My montage is flat or boring, as you can see it’s showing a cityscape made by newspapers

What do you want the viewer’s first reaction to be? Amusement? Awe? Shock? Puzzled?

Be confused, amazed, inloved with the montage and an urge to make a montage themself

Do you work in  black and white or colour? Does your colour create a mood or structure the collage?

The colour that I choose shows an aesthetically mood or vibe.

Does your photomontage have leading lines? Do you repeat parts?

I didn’t repeat any images to use. The leading line of this montage is the tall building on the upper part of the photo.

Business and Enterprise Reflection

Kia Ora everyone, yesterday was the Business and Enterprise market.

I would say our business went kinda good because some people bought our rocks, but not all of them was sold because it doesn't look very good for them. We had 6 more rocks left at the end of the day, and we made $37. I really enjoyed walking around and seeing some different products that other company made, doing the sales talk, but the highlight of my day was eating food.

Base on what I noticed, making a really good poster doesn't really attract the customers, it was the product that they were attracted to. Next time I would do this is I would make food products because what I noticed is, the food companies yesterday made the most profit out of all the companies.

I guess picking our own teammates would help the company better because we're gonna understand each other more, get our ideas together, make up our mind, and help each other better.

As far as I know, I participated equally both in preparation and on market day. It was a really fun experience to have and I would never forget it.

That's me on the right side and those are the painted rocks we sold.

Thanks for visiting my blog, make sure to have a great day!~~~

Power of the People | Political Party

Kamusta everyone this week in Hurumanu 6: Power of the People, our teacher told us to find a group to be a political party.

We had to make a political group, that has our own name, logo and what we would to if they'll vote for our team, on my group the people are Ryan, Sonny, Khush, Jacob, and me. We also need to pick a leader, and my group came up with the idea that Khush will be our group leader

Our political group name is Zealandia United, and our slogan is "It's time for a change".
