Hurumanu PE | Fosbury Flop

Hello everyone, today in PE Hurumanu, we learned how to do a Fosbury Flop in high jump.

High Jump
Fosbury Flop
What is Fosbury flop? - The Fosbury Flop is a style used in the athletics event of high jump. It was popularized and perfected by American athlete Dick Fosbury, whose gold medal in the 1968 Summer Olympics brought it to the world's attention. Over the next few years, the flop became the dominant style of the event and remains so today.

It was fun trying a new skill that I learned. Each student in our has needed to try and use the skill. I got 1.45m high. Most of the class got lower than 1.40m, so I'm happy than I'm at above average.

1. Land with your arms and your feet facing up. Land on your back
2. When you leave the ground you must spin around and use your knee to turn.
